About Us
K4R was founded by the late Oneta E. Hollowell September of 1993. Ms. Oneta impacted countless amounts of young lives through her passion and love of working with children. Her creation became a mainstay in the Whittier neighborhood and positively benefitted the community. It was essential for her family to continue her legacy. Her son, Roman J. Hollowell, MA is now the current Owner/Executive Director.
K4R is an intimate community-based and diverse child care center that has and still is shaping Denver's children into the future leaders of tomorrow. Currently, we are a Colorado Shines four out of five quality rated program. Our program offers a caring "hands on" approach to learning and development. We aim to meet the needs of our children, parents, and community by providing services such as transportation to and from area schools, participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to ensure that our children receive healthy nutritious meals and snacks daily and accepting child care assistance (CCAP) for eligible families. We also partner with the Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) and the Denver Preschool Program (DPP) to create affordable quality care for our families.
Our mission is to create a balanced program of mental, social and emotional development for children. This includes creative stimulation in school projects as well as recreation. Parent participation is encouraged and welcomed. The goal is to help our children grow physically and mentally in an atmosphere of acceptance that helps build confidence and independence.
